Guitarist David Soler was comissioned at Festival Internacional de Jazz de Vic 2012 to write music for a new band including italian bass player Manolo Cabras, belgian piano player Jozef Dumoulin and spanish drummer Oriol Roca. That evening was shared with the duo Punkt (Jan Bang and Erik Honoré) who did a live remix of the previous concert featuring norwegian singer Sidsel Endersen.

That very first concert was the origin of the Bad Currency.

In May 2014 belgian singer Lynn Cassiers (and all her electronic setup) joined the band after a concert at Vic’s Jazz Festival. A first album will be recorded on 2015.
